The Sawgrass VersiFlex Expander (31ml) is not a traditional ink but a specialised liquid designed to enhance the bond between your printed design and uncoated surfaces when using VersiFlex Light transfer media. It replaces the black ink slot in SG500 and SG1000 printers configured for VersiFlex printing and plays a vital role in ensuring strong, lasting transfers onto cotton, wood, glass, ceramics, and other non-coated substrates.
Unlike standard sublimation printing, VersiFlex does not rely on a separate black ink. Instead, a composite black is automatically produced using the Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow inks—just like with Sublijet UHD systems. This delivers deep, rich blacks without compromising quality.
Note: The Expander will only be used when printing onto VersiFlex Light Media. You can leave it in the printer when printing onto sublimation paper as the Print Utility will know not to use this.
