    I can see from the image that the slate edges are rough but are the top and bottom surfaces smooth ? Also could you tell me the approximate thickness of the slate. Thank you.

    Yes the top and bottom of the slates are smooth. The thickness can vary as it is a natural product but it ranges from 5mm to 9mm.
