Sublimation Plush Toys — Built for Print Businesses

Whether you're adding sublimation soft toys to an existing personalised gift range or building a new product line from scratch, Printa Plush® gives you a reliable, consistent foundation. Every product is selected specifically for sublimation printing — with a high-quality printable panel that takes ink cleanly, vibrant colour that holds after pressing, and a soft premium finish your customers will notice.

We've been supplying sublimation blanks since 2009. We know what sells, what prints consistently, and what causes returns. The Printa Plush® range exists because the market was full of sublimation plush toys where the panel shifted, the fur bled through, or the seam sat across the print area. These don't.

What Makes a Good Sublimation Plush Toy?

Not all blank soft toys perform equally under a heat press. When you're running a personalised gift business or print-on-demand operation, consistency is what matters.

Printable Panel Position

The printable area must be clearly defined, well-sized for common design formats, and clear of seams and stuffing so pressing is straightforward every time.

100% Polyester Panel

Sublimation only bonds to polyester. The printable chest or front panel needs to be 100% polyester to achieve the vibrant, sharp results your customers expect.

Consistent Fill Density

Inconsistent stuffing causes uneven pressure during pressing, which means soft spots in your print. Printa Plush® products use consistent fill for repeatable results batch after batch.

UK Safety Compliance

If your customers are selling personalised soft toys at retail, the blank must meet EN71 toy safety requirements. All Printa Plush® products carry the appropriate documentation.

Pressing Guide: Sublimation Plush Toys

The Printa Plush® range is designed for pressing at 180–190°C for 45–60 seconds at medium pressure. Keep fur clear of the platen edge, tape your transfer firmly to prevent movement, and open the press slowly to avoid ghosting. The printable panel is the primary print area - on most products in the range, the feet and ears also accept sublimation for additional personalisation detail.

Longforte holds deep stock on the full Printa Plush® range from our warehouse in Watford. Orders placed before 2pm dispatch same day - no minimums, no pre-order delays.

Sublimation Plush Toys: Common Questions

Printing & Technical

What temperature do you press sublimation plush toys at?

Press at 180–190°C for 45–60 seconds at medium pressure. These are guide settings - all heat presses vary slightly by manufacturer, so do a test press before running a full batch. If your results are coming out too light, try increasing dwell time by 5–10 seconds before raising the temperature

Where can you print on the plush toys?

On most products in the Printa Plush® range you can print on the white chest area and the feet and ears also accept sublimation, giving you additional areas for names, dates, or small branding details. The chest panel is the primary printable area and will give you the sharpest, most consistent results — the feet and ears are better suited to simpler, smaller designs. Check the individual product listing for specifics on each style. Other toys come with printable t-shirts instead - choose which style suits you and your artwork best!

Why is my print coming out faded or patchy?

Faded prints are usually caused by insufficient temperature or pressure - try increasing by small increments and test again. Patchy results, where parts of the print are vivid and others are dull, almost always point to uneven pressure across the panel. Note that the plush toys are filled with a soft filling so you need to put quite a bit of pressure to make it work. Don't worry it looks painful for the toy but they will be ok! Also make sure you're pressing onto the correct panel - sublimation only bonds to polyester, so any non-polyester content in the fabric will show as a faded or washed-out result.

Do I need a special heat press for plush toys?

No specialist equipment is needed. A standard flatbed heat press works perfectly well for the Printa Plush® range. If you're getting inconsistent results, a silicone heat mat or teflon pillow placed underneath the toy can help even out the pressure created by the stuffing. Make sure your platen is large enough to cover the printable panel in a single press - repositioning mid-press causes visible lines in the print. We do not recommend using handheld presses as they often do not apply enough pressure to get consistent prints across the whole design.

Can I use DTF instead of sublimation on these toys?

The printable chest panels on Printa Plush® products are designed primarily for sublimation printing, but DTF (Direct to Film) transfers can also be applied to the panel. Results will vary depending on the DTF film and adhesive used - sublimation gives the most vibrant, durable finish because the ink bonds directly into the polyester fibres rather than sitting on top as a layer. DTF transfers on soft toys can be more prone to cracking or peeling over time, particularly on products that get handled frequently. For best results and longest-lasting prints, sublimation is recommended.

Product & Stock

What sublimation plush toys do you stock?

The Printa Plush® range currently includes bunny rabbits in four colours including a keyring version, teddy bears with a printable T-shirt panel in cream and dark brown and some animal shapes too such as monkeys, pandas and elephants. We hold deep stock on all lines from our warehouse in Watford, with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm. We're expanding the range regularly - check back for new additions or sign up to our newsletter to be notified when new products land.

Do you have certification for Printa Plush toys?

All products in the Printa Plush® range meet EN71 toy safety requirements for the UK market. Age suitability varies by product - check the individual listing for specific age guidance. The keyring format in particular may not be suitable for younger children due to the attachment mechanism. If you're reselling personalised plush toys at retail, always ensure the finished product retains the relevant safety information and that any applied design doesn't cover safety markings.

Do the products come with blank labels for my own branding?

Yes. Every Printa Plush® product includes a swing tag with one blank side, giving you space to add your own brand name, logo, care instructions, or product information. This makes them ideal for businesses that want to sell under their own brand rather than as unbranded products. The blank label side is ready to print or write on - no modification to the toy required.

What's the minimum order quantity?

There's no minimum order quantity on any Printa Plush® product. You can buy a single unit to test a new design or product before committing to larger volumes. Quantity price breaks apply when buying in cartons of 50 units on most products. If you're buying regularly or in larger quantities, get in touch with us directly to discuss bespoke pricing.

Do you sell sublimation plush toys wholesale?

Yes - Longforte supplies sublimation plush toys to businesses of all sizes, from individual craft sellers through to trade buyers purchasing in volume for fulfilment and resale. We hold substantial stock at our warehouse in Watford and can support regular supply without the long lead times that come with importing direct. Contact us to discuss wholesale pricing and supply terms.

Business / Selling

Are sublimation plush toys profitable to sell?

Yes! Personalised plush toys offer some of the stronger margins in the gift personalisation space. The unit cost is low relative to the perceived value of the finished product, and soft toys carry strong emotional appeal that supports premium retail pricing. A personalised bunny rabbit or teddy bear with a name and message on it is a genuinely different product from anything a customer can buy in a high street shop, which means you're not competing on price alone. They also photograph well, which helps with Etsy listings, social media content, and online ads.

What occasions do personalised plush toys sell best for?

Baby gifts and newborn keepsakes are consistently the strongest use case - a plush toy personalised with a name and birth date is an easy sell with strong perceived value and very little competition from generic products. Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Christmas all drive significant demand. Memorial and sympathy gifts are a growing category too, with customers wanting something soft and lasting. Personalised plush toys also perform well as wedding favours, christening gifts, and end-of-year teacher presents - any occasion where a customer wants something more personal than a standard off-the-shelf gift.
